Crane and heavy lift simulator

Train crane operators and lift teams on realistic vessel motion, loads and weather. Start on a laptop and scale up to a full simulator centre.

Designed to NORSOK R-003 (G5)Aligned with IMCA C014

What it covers

Offshore cranes

Pedestal, knuckle boom and lattice boom cranes with wire dynamics, load behaviour and relative motion to the vessel.

Heavy lift installation

Monopiles, jackets, nacelles and blades from jack-up and floating heavy lift vessels, in exact sea states.

Subsea lifts

Splash zone crossing, landing on the seabed and coordination with ROV teams.

Faults and emergencies

Hydraulic and electric failures, alarms, weather changes and abort procedures, injected by the instructor.

Choose your set-up

The same simulator software at every level. Scenes built on a small set-up run unchanged on a bigger one.

Level 1

Laptop

Operator, instructor or banksman station on one laptop. Familiarisation and procedure study, anywhere.

Level 2

Desktop

Joysticks and several screens in a classroom, with instructor and banksman stations.

Level 3

Replica control station

Your crane's chair, joysticks and operator screens for realistic training.

Level 4

Full-size crane cab

Your real crane control system connected to the simulation, in a full-size cab.

Training with this simulator

You run the course. We supply everything else.

OSC does not run courses. We deliver the hardware, software and scenarios, so training centres and operators can run their own.

  • Instructor controls wind, sea state, swell, current and visibility during a session
  • Equipment faults and failures on demand
  • Banksman and crane stations in the same scene
  • Replay for debriefing and assessment
