About OSC

A journey shaped over more than 20 years

We give the offshore industry immersive, interactive tools to explore options quickly. Complex data becomes clear visuals, so you can reduce uncertainty and decide with confidence, whether you are optimising operations, assessing risk or planning a project.

What we aim to do

Make things clear

We turn complicated offshore operations into simulations that people can see and understand.

Help people decide

Everyone on a project looks at the same information. That makes decisions easier and lowers risk and cost.

Try it before it happens

We test the plan in the simulator first, so the work is ready before it goes offshore.

We work with oil and gas, offshore wind and marine construction.

Our history

  1. 2004

    Where it started

OSC began in July 2004, after a fatal anchor-handling accident in Brazil showed the need for safer offshore operations. In 2005 we launched what we believe was the world's first dedicated anchor-handling simulator.

  2. 2005 to 2010

    Expansion

We added PSV operations, cranes, ROVs and engine rooms. We delivered full-scale centres to Bourbon Offshore and Farstad Shipping, and a 360° bridge simulator to Rolls-Royce Marine, and our solutions were used worldwide to train thousands of people.

  3. 2012

    A new simulator centre

We opened our centre at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center in Ålesund, which is still our headquarters. It is built around a 13.5 m, 360° projection dome for an immersive ship bridge, with two crane domes, winch and ROV simulators and more.

  4. 2019

    AugmentCity

We spun off AugmentCity to apply our simulation expertise to smart cities and urban planning.

  5. 2021 to 2022

From generic training to tailored simulation

We moved from generic crew training to tailored simulation and consultancy, combining virtual prototyping, digital twins and engineering tools with hands-on training.

  6. 2022

    Offshore wind

Jan De Nul Group chose us to deliver a crane simulator for the two large wind turbine installation vessels Voltaire and Les Alizés, built on digital twins so crews can rehearse operations onshore.

  7. 2024

    20 years

We marked 20 years with a conference in Ålesund that brought together leaders from across the industry.

The people

Our team is made up of engineers, developers, 3D artists, commercial specialists, administrators and offshore experts, from many cultural and national backgrounds.

We discuss and challenge openly, because it gives better ideas. What unites us is a passion for technology and for real-world impact.

Where to find us
