A journey shaped over more than 20 years.

Our Purpose

Empowering the offshore industry with immersive, interactive tools for rapid exploration of options. By transforming complex data into intuitive visuals, we help you cut through uncertainty, uncover insights, and make smarter, more confident decisions. Whether you’re optimizing operations, assessing risks, or planning future projects.

Our Team

We’re engineers, developers, 3D artists, administrators, commercial specialists, and offshore experts. Our team brings together a diverse mix of cultures, nationalities, and personalities. We laugh, we discuss, and we challenge each other, because that’s how better ideas are formed. United by a passion for technology and real world impact.

Our Mission

We want to create intuitive visual simulations that turn complexity into clarity. Our goal is to enable smarter decisions by making information intuitive and accessible, breaking down silos and thereby lower risk and cost. We want to improve reality and explore the future before it happens.

Our story

The way forward

We continue to support clients across oil & gas, offshore wind, and marine construction. Our goal remains the same: to ensure every operation is fully prepared, tested, and optimized long before heading offshore.

2024: 20 Years of Simulation Excellence

In 2024, we celebrated 20 years of OSC. We marked the occasion with a conference in Ålesund, where we brought together industry leaders to celebrate and explore of the industry of tomorrow.

2022: Offshore Wind

In 2022, we secured a landmark contract with Jan De Nul Group to deliver a crane simulator for two of the world’s largest wind turbine installation vessels. By creating digital twins of Voltaire and Les Alizés, we enabled crews to rehearse complex operations safely onshore, strengthen safety and performance in the growing offshore wind sector.

2021-2022: The shift

Between 2021 and 2022, OSC expanded from generic crew training to tailored simulation and consultancy, combining virtual prototyping, digital twins, and engineering tools with hands-on training.

2019: Digital Twin Spinoff

In 2019, a spin-off from OSC was born. AugmentCity was founded to apply our simulation expertise to smart cities and urban planning.”

2012: New Simulator Centre

In 2012, OSC opened a state-of-the-art simulation centre at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center (NMCC) in Ålesund. Built around a 13.5-metre, 360° projection dome, the facility offers a fully immersive ship bridge experience, alongside two additional crane domes, winch and ROV simulators, and more. The centre marked a major step forward in offshore simulation and remains our headquarters today.

2005–2010: Expansion of Training Solutions

Between 2005 and 2010, OSC expanded its simulation portfolio to include PSV operations, cranes, ROVs, and engine rooms, creating a comprehensive offshore training environment. During this period, we delivered full-scale centres to clients like Bourbon Offshore and Farstad Shipping, and a 360° bridge simulator to Rolls-Royce Marine. By decade’s end, our solutions were in use worldwide, helping train thousands of offshore personnel safely and effectively.

2004-2005: The catalyst

Our journey began in July 2004, following a tragic anchor-handling accident in Brazil that exposed the need for safer offshore operations. With a clear mission to improve safety through advanced simulation, OSC went on to launch the world’s first dedicated anchor-handling simulator in 2005, setting a new standard for offshore training.
